Arc Fault Protective devices are designed to allow normal load operation while detecting and reacting to arcing faults. Current levels in arcing faults often significantly exceed the current rating of the circuit protection device. However, these short duration events fall well below the defined region of most circuit breakers and because they are so localized, they do not transfer enough thermal energy to the breaker to actuate existing circuit protection.

Each Switch design is optimized for your particular application by using the appropriate switch mechanism. Options include contactless, extended-life, snap-action, tapered, and limit switch versions. Performance ranges from logic level to high power applications.

Eaton offers a full range of compact, 270VDC contactors. First developed for use in military aircraft, these contactors are designed to handle up to 1500 amps for generator, bus tie and related high power applications requiring reliable high performance switching in confined spaces.

Hermetically and environmentally sealed power relays meet exacting MIL-R-6106 requirements for high-humidity, high-impact and high temperature conditions. Eaton's Sarasota plant has been a leader in environmentally sealed products. We continue to expand this technology and have recently introduced sealed switches and relays featuring glass-to-metal, rubber-to-metal, and metal-to-metal seals.
